Iscte Business School will proudly host the 25th GRUDIS Conference and Doctoral Colloquium on 30–31 January 2026, at its campus in Lisbon. This special edition marks the silver jubilee of the event, celebrating 25 years of advancing accounting research within the academic community in Portugal and beyond.
Organised in collaboration with GRUDIS – Portuguese Accounting Research Network, the conference is a key forum for academic discussion, knowledge exchange, and research collaboration in the field of accounting. The event is supported by the European Accounting Association (EAA), the Portuguese Chartered Accountants Association (OCC), and other academic partners.
Keynote speaker and scientific programme

The conference will feature a keynote address by Professor Mark Clatworthy from the University of Bristol, an internationally renowned scholar whose research focuses on the usefulness of accounting information in capital markets and audit settings. The programme will also include parallel sessions for the presentation of academic papers and doctoral research projects, fostering critical dialogue and academic development. |
Awards and recognitions
Several academic awards will be presented during the event, including:
- Outstanding Reviewer Award, in honour of Professor Ana Maria Rodrigues;
- Outstanding Paper Award, in tribute to Professor Lúcia Lima Rodrigues;
- Accounting and Management Review Best Paper Award, which includes a €500 monetary prize and encourages publication in AMR;
- Doctoral Colloquium Award, aimed at supporting early-career researchers and promoted in partnership with the EAA.
Submissions and registration
Paper submissions are open until 1 October 2025. Early Bird registration is available until 14 December 2025, with discounted fees for members of GRUDIS, EAA, ASEPUC, AICOGestión, and the InSPiR2eS network.
Participation in the Doctoral Colloquium is automatically included with conference registration, ensuring broad involvement from doctoral students.
Hosting the 25th GRUDIS Conference at Iscte is a testament to Iscte Business School’s leadership in accounting research and its continued commitment to promoting academic excellence and international collaboration.
