Iscte Business School in the Africa Business Concept Challenge
GBSN AFRICA BUSINESS CONCEPT CHALLENGE

Iscte Business School is a member of the Global Business School Network (GBSN), a leading network that connects the world's top management schools to companies, NGOs, and governments in order to fulfill the mission of improving access to quality and locally relevant management and entrepreneurship education for the developing world.

GBSN offers a certified collaboration framework through its programs, events, and partnerships, and all members of GBSN demonstrate a commitment to the mission.

Professor Renato Pereira, from the Department of Marketing, Operations and General Management, participated in one of GBSN's projects, the Africa Business Concept Challenge (ABCC), which is a virtual business concept competition for African undergraduate and graduate students. The competition challenged student teams to conceive a viable business concept that addresses a locally relevant challenge or problem related to Agenda 2063 and inclusive and sustainable development.

This project aims to help young Africans who have an entrepreneurial orientation and a desire to serve their community. With the goal of promoting responsible business, the competition identifies highly potential youth for mentoring and investment.

Professor Renato Pereira participated as an "investor expert", whose role was to evaluate the business proposals of the different competing teams in this challenge, provide written feedback to candidates, and invest in the most interesting proposals on an existing platform for that purpose.
