The Rugby 7’s team of the Students Union of Iscte (AEISCTE) secured 1st place at the Lisbon University Championships (CUL), underlining Iscte’s strong presence and consistent results in university sport.
The victory is the result of the work carried out by the team throughout the season, which demonstrated competitiveness, commitment and team spirit, culminating in a solid performance that secured the title.
“These victories are important because they represent the effort and dedication that the student-athlete condition requires. Iscte has sport, has sporting merit and needs to wear the shirt even more in the context of university sport, not only because we are good, but because the community of student-athletes has been growing and is a true catalyst for well-being and integration in Higher Education,” said Marco Andrade, president of AEISCTE.
In individual spotlight was Pedro Vicente, an AEISCTE athlete and Bachelor’s in Management student, who was named MVP (Most Valuable Player). This award recognises his performance throughout the competition and his decisive contribution to winning the title.
Iscte Business School congratulate all the student-athletes and teams involved, reiterating their commitment to promoting university sport, sporting merit and the academic experience of students.
