ImpactX Africa: Driving DEI Through Entrepreneurship
This project aims to create and test new methodologies and approaches to empower young people through entrepreneurial education in extreme contexts in Africa, particularly in Portuguese-speaking countries, through knowledge and practical tools that increase their economic survival and autonomy, thus preventing girls from being forced into early marriages and boys from joining criminal networks and even terrorist units that are increasingly active in the region.
The potential social impact of this project is highly relevant, as it is aimed at people who have no previous contact with business knowledge or practices - tools that could profoundly transform their living conditions. Among the many positive effects of the initiative, the fact that these individuals become active agents in applying the principles of responsible management acquired during the training process stands out.
This project has three main objectives:
- To develop an intellectual contribution to the knowledge of impact entrepreneurship in extreme contexts in Africa, with the potential to be used in extreme contexts in other geographical regions.
- Contribute to improving Iscte Business School's educational portfolio and enriching current teaching in the field of entrepreneurship, engagement and impact.
- Support disadvantaged groups in the community of Portuguese-speaking countries, thus contributing to the strategic priorities of Iscte Business School, Iscte as a whole and Portuguese cooperation.
