Iscte Business School Undergraduate Programs Offer Specialization in Financial Markets, in a Partnership with BNP Paribas

From the next academic year 2020/21 onwards, final year students of the undergraduate degrees in Management, Economics and Finance and Accounting will have access to a new specialization in Capital Markets and Securities Operations, in partnership with BNP Paribas. By completing this specialization, students will be able to apply to the vacancies that BNP Paribas will open in its financial operations teams to work in Portugal.

To complete the new specialization in Capital Markets and Securities Operations, students will have to complete three courses: Operations in Financial Markets, Investments and Asset Management. The course "Operations in Financial Markets" is new, and has the goal of providing practical training to facilitate the integration into the labor market. Throughout the semester, students will have several networking opportunities and direct contact with specialists from BNP Paribas, benefiting from a customized program and a complete theoretical and practical approach to financial market operations. The course "Operations in Financial Markets" will be taught by Professor Frédéric Jouneau, from the Lumière Lyon 2 University, and by Frédéric Maury, responsible for one of the financial operations departments of BNP Paribas in Portugal.

"Financial markets is an area that requires a very particular know-how that is not easy to find, but some contents of our study plans already provided a good preparation for this sector", says Professor Ana Lúcia Martins. "The partnership with BNP Paribas was the complement that was previously missing, allowing Iscte Business School to be a university with a high impact on the training of graduates who are able to work in this sector".

«The launch of this new specialization is another proof of the long-term relationship that BNP Paribas has with Portugal, with the goal of applying best practices that strengthen the relationship between university education and the labor market», explains Hervé Reynaud, Human Resources director at BNP Paribas in Portugal.

Reynaud adds, «by attending this program, Iscte Business School students have an enormous competitive advantage from the moment they complete their degree. The contact with practical reality gives them the possibility of choosing a career in financial markets, complementing theoretical knowledge with the perspective of experienced professionals in this area".
