The 18th edition of IBS Career Forum took place on February 10 and 11, 2021. As the most important recruitment event of Iscte Business School, it reinforces the school’s commitment to give its students and alumni the opportunity of contacting with national and multinational companies, boosting their employability. As a result of the current pandemic situation, this was the first edition 100% online. Through IBS Career Forum, participants had the opportunity of contacting directly with companies, submit their CVs online, attend presentations, Q&As, roundtables and a conference.
The preparation workshops for the event happened on February 8 and 9, in collaboration with several companies, covering topics such as CV building, preparation for virtual recruitment processes or the importance of personal branding.
On February 10, after the opening of the Career Forum by Professor Maria João Cortinhal, dean of Iscte Business School, there were twenty seven company presentations and the first roundtable, about Companies' Sustainable Development Goals, took place. Moderated by Prof. Catarina Roseta Palma, this roundtable counted with the participation of Too Good To Go, Inditex, Navigator Company and Jerónimo Martins. The day ended with the conference “The Future of Careers in the Post-Covid Era”, with the moderation of Pedro Marques Lopes (Sic Notícias), the companies Hays, Lidl, PwC and Teleperformance and the participation of Prof. Generosa do Nascimento (Iscte Business School).
On February 11, in addition to the company presentations, the last roundtable of the event took place, regarding the importance of candidates' intrapreneurship. Moderated by Prof. Renato Pereira, it counted with the participation of EY, Deloitte and Cofidis.
According to Professor Maria João Cortinhal, “The serious consequences that a pandemic has brought to the world economy are causing a setback in the employment opportunities available to higher education students. The Career Forum allows our students to learn about the recruitment processes of the largest companies operating in Portugal and abroad, and what are the job opportunities available in different business areas”.
The 18th edition of the Career Forum counted with more than 900 registrations, the participation of more than 60 companies, 52 presentations, 10 invited speakers, 8 workshops, 2 round tables and 1 conference, assuming a special importance in the current pandemic context.
