Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon improved its position in the 2022a Times Higher Education (THE) ranking and now occupies the 173rd place of the best young universities in the world. Iscte is the highest ranked university in Teaching and Research, occupying the second national global position.

With a presence in the ranking since 2017, Iscte has improved its performance in the vast majority of indicators. This ranking classifies universities with a foundation date since 1972: 539 universities from all over the world, a number higher than last year (475), and includes eight Portuguese universities.
