In the Financial Times 2022 ranking of masters in Finance, Iscte Business School stands out with an increase of ten positions in comparison to 2021. This is the biggest rise among Portuguese schools, and the second internationally. Career progression and gender balance in the faculty are highlighted as strengths of the course.
The evaluation came from the Financial Times Masters in Finance Ranking 2022 that lists the best Masters in Finance in the world. Iscte Business School reached the 41st position in the ranking, rising ten positions when compared to the past year: the highest growth among the Portuguese represented schools.
"A ten-position rise in the Financial Times reflects the excellent work that has been developed and the dedication that Iscte Business School has to its students. It is an international recognition of the quality of the School, based on its commitment to individuals, organisations, sustainability and social responsibility," says Maria João Cortinhal, Dean of Iscte Business School.
The ranking assesses categories that include career progression, salary and support provided after the completion of the course, and gender equality. Career progression is calculated based on two indicators: company dimension and the seniority level reached 3 years after the completion of the Masters. Worldwide, in this category, Iscte Business School is in the 7th place. It is also the Portuguese school with the most gender-balanced faculty (49% female) and belongs to the group of schools in which at least 99% of the teachers hold a PhD.
This FT Ranking follows Iscte Business School's entry into the Positive Impact Rating (PIR), where it was considered a "transformational" school. The PIR is an international rating of 45 schools in 21 countries that evaluates the positive impact of each institution on issues such as sustainability and preparation for professional life.
