Iscte Business School has been reaccredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), one of the most prestigious accreditations that can be awarded to Business Schools. The extension of accreditation for a new 5-year cycle is an endorsement of Iscte Business School's standards of excellence. Only 5% of business schools worldwide are accredited by AACSB.
AACSB recognizes, globally, business schools that demonstrate a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching quality, research impact, program and curriculum development, student learning, among others. Held by only five percent of the world's business schools, it represents the international recognition of the School's standards of excellence, being the second time the school has earned this accreditation.
"The AACSB reaccreditation reflects the School's alignment with the highest international standards, reaffirming the excellence of its faculty, students, staff, and curricula," says Maria João Cortinhal, Dean of Iscte Business School, "It means that we are among the best business schools in the world, and that our students receive high-quality academic training that is relevant to their professional careers".
One of the cultural traits of Iscte Business School is the close guidance of its students - from admission to employment, and continuing throughout the professional career of its alumni, through professional support provided by the Career Services office (one of the oldest offices of professional prospects in Portugal). "Our institution is a pioneer in the development of academic programs in close articulation with the business sector, providing a wide range of programs that combine traditional topics with emerging trends, such as digital transition, ethics and sustainability in management," says Maria João Cortinhal.
"At our School, students don't just apply theoretical knowledge to business practices, they interact with the business environment and cement the development of soft skills," says the Dean of Iscte Business School. "It's about contributing knowledge to practice and learning from practice in the pursuit of new knowledge," concludes Maria João Cortinhal.
