International Conference on Industry 4.0 and Intelligent Manufacturing concludes with profound reflections on Innovation
After an exciting start, the International Conference on Industry 4.0 andIntelligent Manufacturing (ISM) reaches its final day with transformative insights. Organized by Professor Florinda Matos (Conference Chair), this international conference gathered over 200 participants and featured around 370 papers (to be published in the Computer Science Journal). It spanned three days, with an additional day dedicated to a Doctoral Workshop hosting 20 PhD students from different parts of the world.
The event, which kicked off with intensive debates focused on promoting intelligent culture and the impact of digital technologies in the 4th industrial revolution, stood out for two inspiring debate sessions. The day culminated in three fascinating seminars where experts shared their perspectives on "How to be productive in research?" and "Highlighting and maximizing the impacts of your research." The highlight of the evening was the engaging Speed Date with the theme "Contrast Pairing vs. Accordance Pairing in Research," providing a unique experience for participants in the realm of research.
On the second day of the conference, after a plenary session filled with insights, keynote speakers took the stage at the Iscte Grand Auditorium. Dimitris Mourtzis, Professor at the University of Patras in Greece, presented his vision on "Maintenance 5.0: Improving industrial maintenance based on Prescriptive Analytics and Digital Twin." Additionally, Telmo G. Santos, Professor at the NOVA School of Science and Technology in Portugal, offered a critical perspective on additive manufacturing technologies in his lecture titled "Demystifying Misconceptions: A Critical Perspective on Additive Manufacturing Technologies."
This Friday began with parallel sessions covering a variety of topics related to Industry 4.0 addressing emerging challenges and opportunities.
The conference, providing a unique platform for knowledge exchange and networking among experts, will conclude with a special ceremony, marking the end of an event filled with learning, sharing, and inspiration about the worldwide research landscape..
