From April 4th to 6th, the Iscte Business School Sustainability Summit 2025 hosted the Bootcamp Girls for Girls (G4G), an event dedicated to reflecting on and discussing equality and inclusion. Supported by Girls for Girls Portugal (G4G Portugal), a non-profit organization that promotes gender equality and female leadership, the bootcamp stood out as a significant milestone in the fight against discrimination of women and girls.
The G4G project originated at Harvard Kennedy School in 2016/2017, when a group of students from various nationalities identified barriers to female public leadership worldwide. Aligned with Iscte Business School's strategic plan focused on ethics, responsibility, and sustainability, the event aimed to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 5 – Gender Equality and 10 – Reduced Inequalities.
The bootcamp featured 12 mentors from different professions and vast experience, offering parallel sessions in Portuguese and in English, with a total of 39 participants – 21 in the Portuguese session and 18 in the English session. Key topics covered included:
- Courageous leadership
- The art of communication
- Negotiation: for us and others
- Public service and political leadership
- Values in decision making
