In the 2025 edition of the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), Iscte Business School has been recognized as the top institution in Portugal for Business Administration.
Iscte stands out across three subject areas in this year’s ranking:
- Business Administration — ranked globally in the 151–200 band, and the highest among Portuguese universities.
- Economics — globally ranked within the 301–400 band.
- Psychology — globally ranked within the 301–400 band.
About the Ranking Methodology
The ShanghaiRanking GRAS ranking evaluates institutions based on a comprehensive set of objective criteria, organised into five dimensions:
- World-class faculty (including international academic awards, highly cited researchers, editorial leadership, and academic leadership)
- Research output
- Research quality
- Research impact
- International collaboration
Through these rigorous indicators, the GRAS ranking assesses the global performance and academic strength of higher-education institutions across more than 50 subject fields worldwide.
