Daniel Alves do Quental, an alumnus of Iscte Business School, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Management, and of Harvard Business School, where he obtained his MBA, was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal in an article highlighting his academic and professional journey towards his current role as a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in New York.

During his time at Harvard Business School, Daniel Quental was awarded the prestigious Baker Scholar distinction, granted to the top 5% of students in each graduating class, underscoring his outstanding academic performance at one of the world’s most renowned business schools.

In the interview, Daniel Quental shares his perspective on the role of higher education institutions in student development, noting that “top schools open doors, but they don’t walk you through them”, reflecting on the importance of individual initiative in building a successful career. Following the completion of his MBA, his entry into BCG in New York emerged as a natural progression, supported by a consistent track record, the development of a strong professional network and a significant investment in networking, including close engagement with faculty members and alumni already working in the field of strategy consulting.
