Airport transfer: An Uber or Bolt journey from Lisbon Airport to Iscte generally costs approximately €8–€15 and takes around 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic and demand. Prices may be higher during busy periods.
A warm meal: A simple hot meal or prato do dia in a local café or casual restaurant generally costs around €8–€12. A casual restaurant meal may cost approximately €12–€20, while university canteens and supermarkets provide more economical alternatives.
Coffee and snacks: An espresso usually costs approximately €1–€1.50, while a pastry or light snack can generally be found for €1.50–€4.
Weather: January in Lisbon is generally mild compared with many other European cities, with daytime temperatures of approximately 12–16°C and cooler evenings. Students should bring layers, a warm jacket, comfortable shoes, and a waterproof jacket or umbrella.
Accommodation: Accommodation is not included in the course fee. Students should book early and carefully check the location’s proximity to Iscte or to a Metro station. Contact us to learn about fares.
Payment: Portugal uses the euro. Debit and credit cards are widely accepted, but carrying a small amount of cash can be useful for cafés and smaller establishments.
Safety: Lisbon is generally considered welcoming and safe, despite that normal precautions to avoid pick pockets are recommended.
