SEED Project – Entrepreneurship Education receives "Good Practices" label from the European Union
SEED

On October 29th, 2024, the URBACT IV Monitoring Committee selected 116 URBACT Good Practices from the 249 submitted, following the competition that took place between April 15th and June 30th, 2024, to which the SEED Project – Entrepreneurship Education applied.

The SEED Project is an initiative by the Lisbon City Council (Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (CML) in Portuguese) aimed at fostering literacy and empowering citizens, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for younger age groups (9th to 12th grade).

The project consists of six main action areas:

  1. Development of an entrepreneurship laboratory in schools.
  1. Study visits to entrepreneurial ecosystem spaces and entrepreneurship workshops.
  1. Financial literacy sessions.
  1. Support for the development of projects created by young people.
  1. Promotion of skills discovery and career guidance.
  1. Facilitation of training experiences in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

These actions are multiplied into activities developed with partners, including Iscte Business School and the Iscte Trading and Investment Club (ITIC), which facilitate financial literacy sessions.

As partners of the SEED Project, it is extremely gratifying for Iscte Business School that the SEED Project – Awareness for Entrepreneurship and Innovation – has been recognised as a URBACT Good Practice, as it confirms that this is an impactful, participatory, integrated, relevant, and easily transferable urban initiative to other European cities.

The URBACT Good Practices will be promoted through URBACT's communication channels during 2024-2025 and will be the main highlights of the URBACT City Festival 2025, which will take place from 8 to 10 April 2025 in Wroclaw, Poland. The URBACT City Festival 2025 will be an opportunity for the SEED Project to showcase its initiatives and for other European cities to be inspired by this work and start building project partnerships with other cities with URBACT Good Practices interested in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among young people.
