Embark on a transformative journey with our MSc in Accounting and Management Control, tailored for forward-thinking students aspiring to play pivotal roles in the dynamic realm of accounting and finance. As businesses navigate an increasingly volatile economic landscape, the need for adept professionals is more crucial than ever. This program is tailor-made for those envisioning a future as financial leaders, whether as a CFO, certified accountant, financial consultant, investment analyst, controller, auditor, or statutory auditor.
The MSc in Accounting and Management Control is a full-time, two-year program (first year of classes; second year for the dissertation, with an option to expedite completion to half a year).
International Seminar Experience at a European University
Students can participate in a "International Seminar Experience" for 3-5 days, which includes lectures, visits to companies or other organisations, and cultural events, resulting in a multicultural experience. The most recent was In September 2024. Students travelled to London, UK, to:
- Visit the IFRS Foundation and discuss the latest recent IFRS standards and projects with board members and professionals from the International Accounting Standards Board.
- Visit the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and attend a seminar on the relevance of financial statements for credit risk, with one LSE professor.
- Visit the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and learn about the most significant activities while contacting and networking with local and Portuguese specialists.
- Visit KPMG UK and speak with specialists about the interplay of IT and auditing services.
- Personal visits to the main attractions and leisure activities
ISCTE Business School covers many travel expenses and fees, and master students are informed ahead of time each year. Further information will be provided in case of a limited number of places.

Possibility of recruitment: Monitors from the Accounting Department
The top-performing students in the first year of the Master's in Accounting and Management Control may have the opportunity to serve as monitors in the Accounting Department. Selected candidates will fulfil their responsibilities during the second year of the program.
