BIC - Business and Intercultural Communication Master Elective

The Business and Intercultural Communication (BIC) is a second semester free elective course which students from master level may choose at their discretion. For two weeks, students visit a country and attend classes at a partner university, visit local companies and other organizations, and take cultural experiences to learn about local customs and business practices through hands-on experiences.


Destination and Dates for 2025/2026

1. Dubai, United Arab Emirates (IMT Business School)

> Return Date: June 30th, 2026 (to Lisbon)

Application Process


> There will be a presentation session on January 16th, 2026. Click here to register to attend this session. 

> Interested students must formalize their application until January 31st, 2026.

> Places available: 40

> Selection criteria: 1st semester GPA (50%) + Individual interview (50%)



Cost


Around 1,000€. This amount includes flight tickets, insurance, and other mandatory travelling expenses.

Iscte Business School will cover the costs associated with the academic programme to be paid to the host university, which includes on campus accommodation in double rooms, and on campus meals.


Withdrawal


No refunds will be given in the event of a cancellation, unless a replacement can be found and airline tickets and other bookings can be changed.


Credits (ECTS)


Successful participation allows students to get approval in one free elective course of their Master programme.

In case of selection, participants will be automatically enrolled by the services on the elective course Business and Intercultural Communication, through the replacement of one previously selected free elective course.
