Before joining ISCTE-IUL in a full-time position (2005), I've worked as HRM Consultant for 5 years and Marketing Researcher for 10 years. After 2005, I taught several courses in HRM and Applied Research Strategies. I've managed several programs in the HRM field (undergraduate, master and Ph.D. levels). I was the Director of the Human Resource and Organizational Behavior Department for 4 years. More recently I shifted my career to a more research orientation. My research interests are the determinants of organizational performance, organizational identity, and leadership development, especially in highly institutionalized contexts like health care services or public and non-profits.

Álvaro Rosa is a professor of Management. His areas of research and study are Strategy, Governance and Cross-Cultural Management. In addition, he is also a researcher and teacher of Chinese Studies, namely Contemporary China. Currently, he is the Director of Master Degree in Chinese Studies, a joint program of University of Aveiro and ISCTE - IUL. Professionally, he is a coach and trainer in negotiation techniques.

Dulce Morgado Neves doutorou-se em Sociologia no ISCTE, em 2013, com a tese “Intimidade e Vida Sexual: mudanças e continuidades numa perspetiva de género e geração”. É investigadora integrada do CIES-Iscte e tem centrado o seu trabalho nas áreas de género, sexualidade, parto, transição para a parentalidade e movimentos sociais. Atualmente, desenvolve a investigação “Reprodução e(m) Mudança: cinco décadas de Políticas, Direitos e Experiências de Saúde Reprodutiva em Portugal” e é a coordenadora local do projeto internacional “IPOV - Respectful Care”, financiado pela União Europeia. É também coordenadora do Laboratório de Estudos Sociais sobre Nascimento - nascer.pt, uma estrutura de investigação permanente criada em 2017 e integrada no CIES-Iscte.

Doutorada em Gestão, com especialização em Recursos Humanos e Comportamento Organizacional, pelo Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. É Professora Associada no Departamento de Recursos Humanos e Comportamento Organizacional do Iscte. É Diretora do LIA Iscte - Laboratório para a Inovação na Academia. É Diretora do Mestrado em Gestão de Serviços de Saúde.  É Diretora do Executive Master em Gestão Estratégica de Pessoas e Liderança, do Executive Master em Gestão de Serviços de Saúde e da Pós-Graduação em Gestão para Profissionais de Saúde do ISCTE Executive Education. É Presidente da Direção Nacional da APG - Associação Portuguesa de Gestão das Pessoas. As áreas de investigação são a Gestão de Serviços de Saúde e de Gestão Estratégica de Pessoas. Foi membro de Conselhos de Administração (ou assessora) e possui longa experiência em consultoria em Gestão Estratégica de Pessoas, Gestão de Serviços de Saúde e Mudança Organizacional em organizações, privadas, públicas e economia social, de diferentes setores de atividade.

João Sobral do Rosário is a Visiting Assistant Professor at ISCTE-IUL since 2014. He formerly held a position as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Arizona State University. He earned his PhD in Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His adviser was Rajnish Mehra and the title of his dissertation is "Essays on the Economics of Equity Trading". He has previously published in journals such Applied Financial Economics and International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance. He is a member of the Financial Management Association.

José Crespo de Carvalho (JCC) is a Management professor with over 35 years of experience in teaching, research, consulting, and leading both higher education institutions and companies. He holds a PhD and Aggregation in Management, an MBA, and an MSc in Management with a specialization in Information Systems (ISCTE-IUL). His academic journey also includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management and an Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering (IST-UL). Furthermore, he has completed prestigious in-presence Executive Education programs in Negotiation (Stanford University, Harvard University, INSEAD, and AIF), Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Strategy and Management (Cranfield University and M.I.T. CTL), Big Data (IE), Applied Project Management (Erasmus University) and Applied Strategic Foresight (Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies). Previously serving as Academic Director of NOVA SBE Executive Education, he is currently the CEO of ISCTE Executive Education. As an author, he has published numerous scientific papers and 25 books with ISBN registration. In summary, José Crespo de Carvalho's professional identity is defined by a dynamic blend of consultancy, corporate leadership, innovative executive teaching, and strategic management in higher education.

Maria João Major (publication name: Maria Major) is a Full Professor of Management Accounting and Control at ISCTE–IUL (Lisbon, Portugal). She holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, UK, and completed postdoctoral research at Manchester Business School, UK. Maria João was a Visiting Research Fellow at Alliance Manchester Business School, UK, in 2016, and at Griffith University, Australia, in 2001. She has published in leading academic journals, including Management Accounting Research, European Accounting Review, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Financial Accountability & Management, Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management, and Public Money and Management, among others. She is also the author and co-author of several books and international book chapters. Maria João serves on the editorial boards of Qualitative Research in Accounting and Management, Journal of Accounting and Organizational Change, and Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management, and has previously served on the editorial board of the European Accounting Review. She is actively involved in reviewing manuscripts for several leading accounting journals. Maria João has been a member of the scientific committees of numerous international accounting conferences, including the annual congresses of the European Accounting Association. She was the convenor of the Manufacturing Accounting Research (EIASM) 2016 and European Network for Research on Organizational and Accounting Change (ENROAC) 2011 conferences. Additionally, Maria João has received teaching awards recognising her as an outstanding lecturer. Before joining ISCTE–IUL, she was an Associate Professor at Nova School of Business and Economics, where she taught across PhD, Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Executive Education programmes. More recently, she served as a Non-Executive Director (NED) on the Board of Directors of Portugal’s largest bank, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, where she also sat on the Audit Committee and the Governance Committee (December 2021 – July 2025).

Nuno Crespo holds a PhD in Economics and a Master degree in International Economics. He is the Director of the Master in Business Economics and Competition. In the most recent years, Nuno Crespo was Vice-Rector of ISCTE-IUL and assumed several other positions such as Director of the Department of Economics, Scientific Commission of the Department of Economics, and the coordenation of courses (Master in Portuguese Economy and International Integration and Master in Health Services Management). Researcher at Business Research Unit (BRU-IUL), he has several publications in scientific journals such as World Economy, World Development, Economics Letters, Review of World Economics, Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of Economic Surveys, Empirical Economics, Papers in Regional Science, Tourism Analysis, Journal of Economics and Social Measurement, Telecommunications Policy, Journal of Informetrics, Scientometrics, International Review of Applied Economics, International Journal of Social Economics. Publications of books and book chapters in his areas of expertise. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Academy of Entrepreneurship Journal and member of the editorial board of several international scientific journals (European Journal of International Management, International Journal of Trade and Global Markets, International Journal of Knowledge and Learning, Sustainability, and Tourism Analysis, among others). Editor of the MPRA. Member of the International Economics Advisory Board of the Cambridge Scholars Publishing. Global Partner of the National Economic Education Delegation (NEED). Member of the Advisory Council of A3ES.

Foi reconhecido como Diretor de Recursos Humanos do Ano em 2010 e 2017 pela RH Magazine – Portugal. Doutorando em Políticas de Desenvolvimento de Recursos Humanos - ISCSP (U. Assumiu em março de 2024 a Direção de Recursos Humanos da Lusitania e Lusitania Vida, empresas seguradoras do Grupo Montepio. Profissional sénior com mais de 30 anos de experiência em gestão de pessoas, desenvolvimento organizacional, de líderes, equipas e talentos. Tem desenvolvido a sua carreira em organizações multinacionais e nacionais, com responsabilidades locais, regionais e globais, nos setores de Consultoria, Tecnologia, Saúde, Financeiro e Segurador. Trabalhou na Europa, Médio Oriente, África e EUA, tendo vivido e trabalhado em Portugal, Angola, EUA e Espanha. O seu percurso profissional inclui organizações como a CEGOC, SAP, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson e Banco de Portugal. 

Violeta Alarcão é licenciada (FCSH-UNL 2000) e doutorada (ISCTE-IUL 2016) em Sociologia, tendo vasta experiência como socióloga da saúde e em investigação clínica e epidemiológica. É Investigadora do Centro de Investigação e Estudos de Sociologia (CIES-Iscte) do Instituto Universitário de Lisboa e colabora também como investigadora no Instituto de Saúde Ambiental (ISAMB) da FMUL. Entre 2004 e 2019, foi investigadora no Instituto de Medicina Preventiva & Saúde Pública (IMP&SP) da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa (FMUL), onde participou e foi responsável por vários projetos. Os seus interesses de investigação são múltiplos e interdisciplinares, tendo vindo crescentemente a incluir temas como a sexualidade, género, e etnicidade, numa perspetiva transdisciplinar. Tem publicado sobre estas temáticas a nível nacional e internacional. Outras áreas de interesse incluem os determinantes sociais de saúde; curso de vida e bem-estar; envelhecimento saudável; nutrição e insegurança alimentar. Foi Investigadora Responsável do projeto de investigação financiado pela FCT, intitulado Fecundidade, Imigração e Aculturação: Abordagem interseccional das experiências e expectativas de saúde sexual e reprodutiva em Famílias Cabo-verdianas e Portuguesas, e também a Investigadora Responsável do projeto Promoção da Cidadania e Direitos Sexuais em Populações Imigrantes em Portugal: coprodução de recomendações e boas práticas para a redução de desigualdades sexuais e reprodutivas, financiado ao abrigo do Programa Nacional do Fundo Asilo, Migração e Integração (FAMI).  O seu mais recente projeto intitula-se CROSS-MINDS — Construção Participativa de Indicadores de Monitorização da Saúde Menstrual em França e Portugal em parceria com o Institut national d’études démographiques (Ined).
