Álvaro Rosa has a wide international teaching experience. He has been visiting in the recent years the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China; Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China; University of Economics, Poznan, Poland; University of Economics and Finance, Warsaw, Poland; ICN Graduate Business School, Nancy, France; CESPU-Angola,Benguela, Angola; Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Ana Brochado is an economist and professor of management at the ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa - Lisbon University Institute and a researcher at DINAMIA’CET-Centre for Socioeconomic and Territorial Studies. She served as the Vice Dean for administrative affairs and Vice Dean for faculty for five years and coordinated the PhD in Tourism Management. She worked for more than one decade as Senior Economist for the Portuguese Competition Authority and the Securities Commission. She joined the Strategic Board of Compete2020. She has a Bachelor of Science in Economics, a Master of Science in Quantitative Methods and a Doctor of Management. Her main research interests are market research, hospitality and tourism management, Fintech, sustainability management, and innovation. She has authored or co-authored over 70 publications in top international journals in these fields, wrote over 40 book chapter and presented over 200 talks in international conferences. Her research received over 1500 citations.
António Freitas Miguel is an Assistant Professor of Finance at ISCTE Business School. He is the Director of the MsC in Finance. He has a PhD in Finance from ISCTE Business School, "Essays on International Investments", supervised by Miguel A. Ferreira, and a Postdoc in Finance from Cass Business School, London. He had visiting positions at The University of Miami Business School, Florida, and at The University of Sydney Business School. He has a large experience teaching Postgraduate, MBA and Executive programs, and he was awarded several times the best teacher prize for excellence in teaching. His research interests include mutual funds and international investments and he is a research member of the Business Research Unit - ISCTE-IUL Research Centre, since 2007, and of the Cass Business School Centre for Asset Management, since 2008. He gained a Post-Doctoral Scholarship (2008-2010), and a Sabbatical Grant (2014-2015), both from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. He also obtained research grants from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology for the project "Performance Persistence and The Smart Money Effect in Mutual Funds - International Evidence" (2010-2013, EUR 45,310), and for the project "Mutual fund management, national culture and markets integration" (2016-2018, EUR 67,500). His research has been published in top tier journals, including the Review of Finance and the Journal of Corporate Finance.
Fernando A. F. FERREIRA is Associate Professor w/Habilitation and Former Vice-Dean for Financial Affairs (2014-19) at the ISCTE Business School of the University Institute of Lisbon (Portugal). He is also Adjunct Research Professor at the Fogelman College of Business and Economics of the University of Memphis, and Senior Manager at the Montis West Corporation (TN, USA). Previously, he was Adjunct Professor and Vice-President of the Scientific Council at the School of Management and Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (Portugal), Lecturer at the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Beja (Portugal) & Visiting Scholar at the Portuguese School of Bank Management (Portugal), University of Memphis (TN, USA), Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (CHIH, Mexico), University of Kaiserslautern (Germany) and Central College of Commerce (Scotland). He holds a PhD in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management from the University of Algarve (Portugal) and received his MSc in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Algarve and the Technical University of Lisbon (Portugal). In 2009, he was granted a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation fellowship for Post-Doctoral studies at the University of Memphis (TN, USA). He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Multicriteria Decision Making & Editorial Board Member of several international research journals. He has authored books, book chapters, peer-reviewed papers and made many conference presentations. Some of his works are published in ISI-indexed international journals (e.g., European Journal of Operational Research [ABS 4], Annals of Operations Research [ABS 3], IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management [ABS 3], Journal of Business Research [ABS 3], Journal of Small Business Management [ABS 3], Journal of the Operational Research Society [ABS 3], Technological Forecasting & Social Change [ABS 3]). He has practical experience as group facilitator and has delivered keynote and invited speeches at conferences across the world (e.g., Mexico, Spain, Hungary, Albania, Japan, South Korea). Dr. Ferreira has provided consultancy services and executive education to private companies and public sector organizations (e.g., Caixa Geral de Depósitos, S.A. (Portuguese state-owned banking corporation), Infraestruturas de Portugal, S.A. (Portugal’s rail and road infrastructure manager), Metropolitano de Lisboa, EPE (Lisbon Metro), and Fidelidade Insurance Company, S.A. (market leader in Portugal)). He has also served as evaluator on a number of international projects funded by European research funding. His research interests include multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA), strategic decision making and integrated systems for performance measurement and risk analysis in finance, insurance, banking & real estate.
Before joining ISCTE-IUL in a full-time position (2005), I've worked as HRM Consultant for 5 years and Marketing Researcher for 10 years. After 2005, I taught several courses in HRM and Applied Research Strategies. I've managed several programs in the HRM field (undergraduate, master and Ph.D. levels). I was the Director of the Human Resource and Organizational Behavior Department for 4 years. More recently I shifted my career to a more research orientation. My research interests are the determinants of organizational performance, organizational identity, and leadership development, especially in highly institutionalized contexts like health care services or public and non-profits.
Helena holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University, UK. She is Professor of Accounting at ISCTE-IUL Business School in Lisbon. She has previously worked at Cass Business School, an she was a visiting scholar at Sydney University and University of Miami, USA. Her research interests are: international accounting, voluntary disclosure, and financial reporting and capital markets. Helena participates actively in international organizations. She is a member of the management committee of the European Accounting Association, and a member of the academic research network of EFRAG - European Financial Reporting Advisory Group. She coordinates several international research projects and she publishes academic articles in top journals such as European Accounting Review; Journal of Business Finance and Accounting; International Journal of Accounting; and Journal of Business Ethics. She sits in the editorial board of the European Accounting Review, Accounting in Europe, and the International Journal of Accounting. She has own several prestigious awards namely best European PhD thesis in Management, best paper awards in international conferences, and she has been award a Fulbright Research Scholar by the US Government.
Hélia Gonçalves Pereira is an Associate Professor of the Marketing, Operations and General Management Department at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa - ISCTE-IUL. Hélia Gonçalves Pereira is Director of the Master in Hospitality and Tourism Management and of the Tour DC Msc (ERASMUS Mundus); Pos-Degree in Sales Management and Pos Degree in Top Management in Hospitality and Tourism. She is Coordinator of the Marketing FutureCast Lab, an applied research lab in new trends in marketing. Her background is interdisciplinary, combining a BSc in Economics, a post Degree in European Studies, a MSc in Management and a PhD in Management with specialization in Marketing and several years as senior consultant in Price Waterhouse and Coopers. She has interests in consumer behaviour, internet marketing and social media and, as well, tourism marketing. She was, between 2016 and 2019, member of the board (non-executive) of Turismo Fundos SGFII, S.A., a financial society that supports tourism and industrial projects.
Research skills in Industrial and Services Engineering focusing on the strategic alignment of operations systems, by designing organisational change programes that are adequate. Methodological concerns that favour qualitative methods and Soft Systems Engineering applied to complex organisational problems. Broad professional experience ranging from engineering functions (Ferro Portugal), logistics management (Renault Portuguesa), consultancy in deployment of information systems (Grupo Violas; Ford of Europe - Southampton Plant), Managing Director (Agiltec), founding and developing its own business to teaching and researching in the university, all together for more than 30 years.
Paula Vicente is Associate Professor of Statistics and Data Analysis at Iscte Business School and investigator at Business Research Unit (BRU-Iscte, Lisboa, Portugal. She holds a PhD in Quantitative Methods for Management from Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), a MSc in Management from ISCTE-IUL and a BA in Management from ISCTE-IUL, Portugal. Her research is focused on survey methodologies, namely mobile phone surveys, mixed-mode surveys, use and analysis of paradata, with applications to market research, business and management and social sciences. She has published several articles in refereed journals including Survey Methodology, International Journal of Market Research, Social Science Computer Review, Survey Research Methods and Quality & Quantity. She is on the editorial board of Sage Open.
Pedro é Membro Integrado da Business Research Unit (BRU-IUL) do Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), tendo já diversos artigos publicados em várias revistas de topo. Tem também livros publicados. As suas principais áreas de interesse são a Gestão Geral e a Negociação Empresarial.
